problem with checkrom v6

today i downloaded checkrom v6 and after installing siyah 2.6 when i reboot most of my apps dissappear from my home screen. Any ideas?

To be honest I'm not sure why they disappeared. Are they still I'm your app draw? If they are at least you can put them back.
Anyway moving this to the all things root

Edit: did you wipe data before installing like you should? Doing that would remove things from your honescrren

I did a full wipe before installing checkrom and i put siyah on immediately so i didnt think there was amything to wipe. The apps are still in the app drawer so its not a huge issue just more of an iritant. My concern was that this might be a symptom of a bigger issue.

You just answered yourself. You did a full wipe then installed siyah immediately after. The full wipe process will reset all your home screens along with everything else.

What i mean is after I installed checkrom and siyah i put my apps on my home screens and when i reboot after that most of my apps are missing from my home screen. This morning I wiped the cache, dalvik cache, voltage stats and battery stats all twice then reflashed siyah and ics domination theme. I havent rebooted yet but when i do ill post back if it corrected the problem

So i finally rebooted and the problem persists, most of my apps are missing from my homescreen as well i noticed that my contacts which are linked to FB no longer show their profile pics which should be showing. Im baffled

I'm not sure about the Facebook pics but try clearing data and cache for whichever launcher you are using. You will have to set up your homescreens again but after that they should stick.

You can't really go wrong with Go Launcher. The launcher is basically your homescreens and app draw. Third party ones offer more customisation than the stock touchwiz.

Ok i figured out the problem with my apps disappearing from my homescreens when i reboot. The apps that disappear are the ones ive moved to my SD card. I dont want to move all my apps back to my phone so does anyone have an idea to fix this?

Personally i've never had any problems with apps moved to sd so I'm not really sure. It could just be one problematic app so maybe try moving them all back and then move them over one by one and see if its a specif one which causes it.

In what terms launcher pro is better? I used it as well for some time and it has way less options to configure than ADW (paid) + it hasn't been updated for looooong time ;)

go launcher ex without a doubt. tried adw in the past (a bit bland?), and launcherpro (which needs bettercut/anycut app to do any decent icon customisations etc).

go launcher ex is constantly updated, unlike say launcherpro, which hasn't been updated in almost a year.

So after doing some searching i found that the problem lies with the launcher starts up at after reboot before my sd card is scanned. Is there anyway i could make my phone scan the media card before the launcher starts up or could i just install go launcher and maybe
That would fix the problem?

What! No Apex love???

I have used Go Launcher ex for a long time, but now I use Apex. I loved Go Launcher ex, but Apex is a VERY good launcher as well. I would recommend to start with Go launcher and then go over to Apex. Than you will see what you like best :)
