Problem With EFS Pro

Langleson

Lurker
Hello,

This is my first post. I recently switched to Android because I hate Apple and I wanted to learn how to program Android.

I have an S4 SGH-1337M which I have recently Rooted and installed Cyanogenmod 11 Nightly.

I am trying to use EFS pro 2.0.8 (and 2.0.7) to backup my EFS as recommended by many websites. It always stops at "connecting to device" and stalls.

I have Busybox 1.22.1.
Enabled debugging, and followed other instructions exactly. Does anyone know why it can't connect to my device? Or perhaps, if there's a better way to backup EFS?

Hello there and welcome to the forums!

Most custom recoveries have an option to backup the EFS during a nandroid.

I know TWRP has that option and I believe CWM does as well. If I were you, I'd go that route ;)

Also, is that the international model of the s4?

Yeah Philz recovery does too
Also theres the app Ktool that works on international samsungs i think

Thanks for the advice. It is a Canadian version. Not sure if that qualifies as "international."

Based on what I have read and can tell from CWM, it cannot backup the EFS alone. Is it safe to assume that when you backup your device as a whole, that the EFS comes with it?

No not in a normal nandroid as far as i know.
Philz recovery is based on CWM and the backup EFS option is buried pretty deep but i think its in backup and restore, advanced or custom backup, custom job... something like that
That might just be a Philz feature though (great recovery btw, you should try it)
