Follow this! If it's not work, you must factory reset.

Hello there!

What device and carrier do you have?
What version of Play are you on?

Is this the error you see, and exactly when do you see it? (opening the app/downloading an app/purchasing an app etc):

Hey I'm having the same exact issue: I'm on a ZTE Force with Sprint with the play store version of 5.3.6 and I've installed several different versions of the play store, they all say that same error...even when I switch Google accounts and it also happens whenever I go to the play store at all even when I try to search anything, it comes up with that same error

Google Play Services - Manage Data - Clear Data.

The dreaded DF-DFERH-01 hit WifelyMon's phone *before* I updated it, and the update didn't help.

Clearing all three - Framework, Store, and Services did the trick for me, but I had to do it several times before it listened for what seems like for good.

I am not sure if you have deleted the data in the download manager and Google Play store apps in the application manager under All. It might help

I was experiencing the same error message and thanks to a co-worker who sent me this link:
http://www.androidpit.com/google-play-not-working
I was able to resolve with the second choice.

Hopefully this works for others as well.
Thanks and welcome to the forums but I can save others the visit off-site -

That's the exact same advice, step for step, already given in this thread.

Nice to see them getting it right though. :)

Since the 5.0.2 update to my Sprint One M7, the Play Store has been all kinds of messed up.

Typically, it will fail to load and display the DF-DFER-01 error code, although it also sometimes displays a generic Network Timeout message.

I have cleared cache/data for Play Store, Play Services, and Google Services Framework. I've uninstalled updates to all the above. I've tried sideloading various versions of the Play Store app. I've removed and re-added my Google accounts. I've even done three hard resets (from the fastboot menu), and every time, I sign back in to my google account and the Play Store app comes right back with "error retrieving data from server."

If a hard reset doesn't fix it I'm not sure what to do...my guess is some of the Android system files that aren't affected by a factory reset have become corrupted. Any ideas would be appreciated...

@jhermes131 - started on my wife's M8 on KitKat, stayed that way through the Lollipop update, would temporarily clear following the steps in this thread - and then just started working.

I brought up an old Gingerbread phone that hadn't been on since 2012 - got both sets of errors. Did nothing, hour later started working perfectly.

Frustrating!

It's got to be something on their end.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Centura 4.04. Today for the 1st time I am unable to open the Play Store. I just get the white screen. I turned the phone off, took the battery out, put the battery back in and turned phone back on but to no prevail. Is there something I can do? I wanted to go to the store to download another program but I seem to be stuck. Any help or ideas? It worked fine yesterday.

(I hope this posts because it keeps telling me error and that I have to wait 4 seconds before posting)

Try going to menu>settings>applications>all and find the play store app in the list. Select it, then clear the cache and clear data. Reboot your phone. Don't worry if it asks you to accept the terms of the store. That's normal after clearing data. Then see if it will connect.

I've moved your post over here - see if the above suggestions help.

Glad you moved it. Took me a few to find it.

I DID THIS:

It did not connect. I did go to the Tracfone site because that is where I bought the phone and it said the Play store was being worked on (maintenance.) I will try it again tomorrow but for now I don't think anything will work. Will get back to you on the progress and what steps if any I took for it to start working again. And if it still doesn't work and since I only had this phone a week, it might be defective.

I went and uninstalled the Play Store updates, rebooted and still not working. Will wait for maintenance to be completed and /or I will call Tracfone.
