Problem with GPS dropping signal

My Gen 1 Nexus 7 keeps dropping the GPS signal. I'm running version 4.4.2. Can anyone help?

Run GPS Status (free at the Play store) and see what's really happening. (There's no "GPS signal", there are 24 satellites, and your phone gets a separate signal from each one that's in view.) See if you're losing all signals (probably an intermittent antenna connection) or just a few (bad firmware) or what.

The GPS stopped working in my 2012 too. I had sat on it, and the pressure bent the pins that connect the main board to the GPS antenna which is built in to the back of the casing.

I had to pop the cover off and gently bend the contact pins back up. GPS worked flawlessly after that.
