Help Problem with Handcent App

I've downloaded the Handcent messaging app for my phone & I love it. but when I did delete it my regular messaging wouldn't make a sound or vibrate when I got a text. So I never know when someone texts me. does anyone know how to fix this ? Its rather frustrating!

If you go "MENU" then "Settings" there should be a "Notifications" menu that you can use to turn off/on notifications.

I didn't uninstall the original messaging app when I installed Handcent, I just turned notifications off in the original app and on in Handcent.
