Root problem with hboot version in unrevoked

goob001

Lurker
i recently tried rooting my desire with unrevoked. I got all the way to where unrevoked says waiting for root, and it just stopped there and wouldnt finish. i tried it twice, got on the chat with the devs from unrevoked, and they told me that unrevoked doesnt support my hboot version (1.06), or anything over 1.00. anyone know of any way to downgrade hboot to where i can root? or a similar question, should i downgrade my hboot to root or wait until they support my hboot version? The guy told me that they have someone working on getting unrevoked to work for 1.06, but i have no idea how long that will be.

I also have hboot 1.06, and as of now, I have not yet found a way to downgrade my hboot version to one of the lower ones. Over with unrEVOked there is a gentleman named Matt who has been working on it for a while now. On chat I was told that it would PROBABLY be included with the next release of unrEVOked. We can hope :)

No, I was hoping you had an update for me. I can't get a real answer from anyone beside that fact that they are working on it. If you go to unrevoked's chat thing at the top it even says not to ask about it.

I know its frustrating guys but be patience! Folks over at unrevoked do remarkable job so give them a chance to crack the security locks!

Oh I know they do. I just wish they would communicate a bit better about it.

I understand that mate. Im assuming they have nothing to report hence the silence treatment.

I'm with you DNick, but since we don't have the skills to do it ourselves, I guess we have to wait on others. :(

Yeah, I know. And I appreciate the work they do. They do a good job that I couldn't begin to do.
