Help Problem with HTC Inspire 4G phone

Chazbo48

Lurker
I recently purchased an unlocked AT&T HTC Inspire. I activated a new T-Mobile sim card and signed up for one of their 4G plans. I was able to make phone calls but no internet. I called T-Mobile tech support for help. They took me to settings>wireless&networks>mobile networks>access point names. I filled in all the info in all the places they told me to. I shut off the phone, removed the battery and sim then replaced everything and booted up the phone. For awhile I was able to get "Edge" connection but then everything quit working. No network or data connection! Back in settings one of the network tabs has been disabled and I can't click it to reconnect to the network. What the heck did those T-mobile "techs" do to my phone? I've done the factory data reset option but that network connection tab is still disabled. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to AF. I moved your thread here where it will receive the best support. I hope our friendly members that own the Inspire have some suggestions for you. Good luck.

Sorry dude, that's a limitation of your phone. The Inspire 4G is not compatible with T-Mobile's data network. T-Mobile uses 1700 MHz and 2100 MHz for data, but your phone only supports 850 MHz and 1900 MHz. Check this thread for more info.

EDIT: Looks like I'm behind the times. T-Mo is starting to offer 3G on 1900 MHz. Doesn't seem like there's any way to tell if it's available in your area, though, other than testing it with a 1900 MHz device.
