Help Problem with OTA Update

No problems with my update. I shut it off every night, and it was waiting there when I turned it on this morning. It still texts and accesses internet just as it did before the update.

mine show's it's trying to update but won't go ahead with the download. im in an extended network area so i'm sure that's why. pain in the butt. ill have to drive to 3g coverage area

I woke up this morning and my phone said a system update is available. I pressed "Install Now" and I notice that the phone unmounted the SD card then...just hung there (with the update prompt screen still displayed). I pressed "Install Now" repeatedly to no avail.

Finally I pressed install later and the screen went away. What gives?

Mine as well. Same exact scenario.

how's that an attack, did i name you specifically?

what about this release from vzw? you need to chill.

http://support.vzw.com/pdf/system_update/incredible.pdf

I never said it was me that was named did I? I said it is an attack which it is. When you call out a group of people that are just trying to help that is an attack in my book and I am entitled to my opinion.

If you read the electronic flyer sent out it specifically says:

"Functionality for composing and sending business email."

What part of business is not being understood?

Plus the link I had above had a direct statement from VZW so where is there confusion? This update did nothing for most people. Nothing with the signal issue or any other small issues with battery people are having.

They said their locations do not currently have the software update to do this manually. Sounds like that will be the only way for some of us to get it until HTC sends this update out again. My phone is working fine so I don't see this as a big issue for me.
So the other kid got an extra piece of candy, Oh well!

Please stop bickering and stay on point gentleman!

Update messed up for me too. Showed an update, then a sdcard issue and the update would not install. The updates go in the flash memory, so the SD cards should not be an issue.

I still have the older software version after pulling the battery and restarting. Seems the network may have assumed th devices that messed up got them, when they did not install. Only thing that makes sense.

I wonder if people that did update fine had a microsd card installed?

Didn't work for me. For those of you that didn't get the update, do you have information on your SD card? I have 2.5 GB of music on it. For those of you that got the update fine, do you have any info on your SD card?

I have 14GB of music on my SD card and I had no problems with the update. I only accept mail on my phone through push Exchange.

I'm not sure if this helps or not, but my battery was low (little less than 50%) and untilI plugged it in the "install now" option was dimmed out and would not let me select it. after i puggged it in though, I was able to chose "install now" and it installed pretty quick. I would recommend putting the phone on the charger and trying the install again if possible.

I believe that is a safety issue. They will not allow an OTA unless there is a certain amount of battery life left. This stops any possible issue of the OTA being interupted.

Is it possible that his/her phone started the install but then hung when the battery life fell below the safe level?

Mine updated fine. It flashed the white HTC screen several time but in about 3 to 4 minutes it was done.

I went the brosed the wweb some and about 10 minutes into browsing I hung the phone on some website. Not sure what one it was not one i normally go to just some random site and it had a popup that I allowed and then my whole phone hung. No buttons were functional. I waited like 5 miutes and tried hard hold down power button but not good. Had to physically remove battery for 15 seconds. Then it powered up fine again and no issues since.

I do have a 16 GB SD card. It was mounted for the OTA update and did not have issues with the update just the hang later when brosing and was probably totaly unrelated.

I have about 20% used on the SD card, pictures, docs and video. All was available and visible before and after the update.

I also was running in unlocked mode, I have the pattern defined but have a widget to lock or unlock. I tried to lock it jsut now and it locks fine if I power off or let it timeout. And then after doing the pattern match it gets back in and I can unlock it and it stays unlocke.

So I am not seeing any issues with lock/unlock.

Since my update this morning, my HOME button seems less powerful....almost non-functioning....like going from within mail to Home...not working. Have to back my way all the out of mail to manually get myself home.

I also do NOT see any issues when in email and hitting the home key. It goesd directly to the home SenseUI screen.

Since this is suppose to be an MS exchange mail update I thought I would try to see if I can get to my corporate exchange email through the exchange ActiveSync. Prior to the update I was NOT able to as it woud tell me "Your Microsoft Exchange Server account does not have permission to synchronize with your current settings. Contact your Exchange Server administrator."

Just FYI - it still does the same thing and does NOT work so I am still using IMAP for access. I was hoping that the issue may have been a bug but it seems to be that my corporate admins have me locked out unless I sign up for MMS support. Which I do not want to do as they can then zap my phone as it is unsupporte phone.

The funny thing is my Blackberry was unsupported to but it worked just fine without being officially supported by work. I t just worked with the sysnc server on the first try. But this Android interface with activesync does not work without going through proper channels at work for support. So I us imap.
