Help Problem with picture and video messaging

Hi! My name is Rick. I got a LG Optimus T for my wife. Her T-Mobile plan has unlimited text, picture and video messaging included. Her Samsung Highlight did all of that without a problem. The Optimus T phone I gave her sends and receives text messages without a problem. It can't send and receive picture messages. Her T-mobile plan does not include a data plan. Is the problem a matter of settings needing to be changed? Any suggestions for solutions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. I am a newbie and need to learn a lot.

You would need some sort of data plan to get MMS to work.

I just spoke with TMobile and yo must have 3G turned on to MMS text. The problem I have is me and my wife both have unlimited text and limited(200mb) data plans. It burns data everytime you mms text. Tmobile effectively said, Sorry about your luck. No Deals on unlimited data or nothing. Ive been with tmobile for ten years, one interaction has just killed my loyalty.

I can download MMS just fine on EDGE, but you need 3G to send MMS. At least, that is my experience.
