Root Problem with Rom Manager (premium) permissions

The fix permissions error is because there is not a copy of busybox in the proper place... If you have Titanium Backup installed it is a very easy fix...

go into Titanium Backup and hit fix problems, this will install a working version of busybox... However it will install it in the wrong spot for RM, use an app like Root Explorer to navigate to your /data/data/com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup folder, the to the files folder.
There is a file there named busybox, copy it and then paste it in your /system/bin folder and you are good to go...

I don't know if CM will work on the Milestone... Not sure though, you would probably be better off asking in the Milestone forums it is a completely different phone then the Droid...

Maybe because it is called rom manager and not "RM premium"
Try searching for rom. It should pull it up.
And I really hope that everyone trying to flash new stuff with the rom manager are rooted already. It won't do it for you..
But on another note, I to am on froyo and the rom manager is giving me an error when I press fix permissions. But I was thinking that maybe that feature is for 2.1 roms ATM.

I am using a Froyo build on my phone and had the same issue with the error in ROM Manager. Please follow ska.t73's instructions above to install a working version of busybox into your /system/bin folder and try it. This fixed it for me. Permissions fixed...

I have the latest version of ROM Manager (Premium) and Titanium Backup (Free), and I am unabled to download busybox via the problems button in Titanium. I am completely sure I have root access because i have the ninja. I have no idea why this won't work and I'm hoping someone can help.

Running Moto Droid Froyo 2.2 @ 1ghz BuglessBeast V0.1.
 
Hey guys/gals. I'm a bit new to the forum and this whole "rooting" business on the Droid, but I think I have a bit of helpful info to offer.

I fixed this issue by simply powering down my phone and powering it on again. This time when I selected "Flash ClockwordMod Recovery" I was met with a dialog box. I checked "remember" and tapped "allow."

Boom! Success. Hope it helps!

I am using root explorer... the problem for me is when i go to paste the busybox into the /system/bin, it tells me

"you cannot paste here because the file system is read-only"

wtf?
 
I can't even find the /system/bin folder. Does this mean that my phone isn't properly rooted? or am I just simply ******ed?

In the top right corner of Root Explorer, it shows R/O (read only). Tap it once, and the system changes to R/W (Read Write)

that did nothing for me!!! I have titanium back up and also root explorer and copied and pasted the folder into system/bin and i even uninstalled RM as well as cleared the cache, nothing still I have issues not being resolved because of this... any other suggestions, besides contacting Rom Manager itself

I was having this exact same issue today after I rooted my NS4G. I did exactly as you said and was able to use Rom Manager. Thanks for the post.
 
I just went to the market and downloaded busybox free version and now the fix permissions works in Rom Manager.
