Help Problem with Samsung Captivate Glide

Hi, I just purchased a Samsung Captivate Glide, model number SGH-I927. I attempt to connect the phone to my computer (running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit) to transfer over wallpapers and ringtones from my computer, but the transfers don't work. After hanging for about 5 to 10 minutes, I get an error that says something along the lines of "The semaphore timeout period has expired", and the transfer fails.

Figuring maybe I needed the Samsung Kies software, I installed that, only for it to not be able to connect to the phone.

Interestingly enough, I was able to use a card reader and MicroSD card to transfer files between the computer and the phone.

Any help on getting my phone to transfer via USB is appreciated. Thanks.

So it gets weirder.

Apparently I can transfer small amounts of files, say, around 1 MB. However, if I tried 18 MB of files, it crashes.
