Help Problem with screen - Samsung Galaxy S3

Hello,

I have a problem with my phone. The thing is that when i have my phone unlocked , for example in Whatsapp, after some minutes the screen randomly reacts without touching it ( Opening a conversation or typing a random key ).

What can i do to solve this?

Would it be possible for you to provide a little bit more detail? Are you on stock firmware if so which or are you rooted and running a custom Rom, also which kernel and ROM if you are. Sorry for the questions but it should make it a little easier to get to the bottom of the issue:)

Hello, thanks for fhe warm welcome.

I have the phone like it comes out the shop.
Not rooted, and stock firmware.

Nothing changed or configured when talking about os, roms , etc.

Cool cool. It's been a while since I've owned the s3 so I'm not too sure myself. I'll move this over to the main galaxy s3 forum so hopefully someone will chime in with some good advice and get you sorted:)
 
Nope, i still have the same firmware from the brand new one.

And i just update facebook and whatsapp when they release their new apps.

Hi and welcome to us. Could you explain in much more detail what kind of weird things are happening please. Without holding the phone, its really hard to get a grip of whats happening.

Also did you install any apps straight before this happened?

Well , for example , i have the phone near me in the table, and i unlock the phone, press the Whatsapp app, and when im on the list of friends in whatsapp, after 1 or 2 minutes, the phone touches one of the names , and opens a conversation without even touching it.

Or for example, while writing a text message waiting the reply from the other friend, the screen randomly presses a space , or writes a n or another key.

That's the problem...

i might have missed this, did you try uninstalling app reinstalling is it only this app that does that?

No no , this happens with everything, GMail , etc...

Not only whatsapp.

I seriously don't know what to do and what causes this problem. Never happend and the phone never falled on the ground so...

Any ideas?

sounds like your digitizer aka lcd is faulty, did you take it to sprint store to have tech look at it? you can find out what is wrong with it, do u have insurance on it? they sell the touch screen digitizer aka lcd assembly on line for way cheaper than what sprint will charge u if u dont have insurance. I had cracked glass I found someone local to switch it out with heat gun (you tube has videos) for low price. I was going to get new touch screen digitizer aka lcd assembly but he was cheaper. now my charge port is bad I'm shopping around for new board. getting quotes on ebay. they dont make it easy when anything goes wrong with phone when u dont have insurance. coworker was telling me about this insurance company he use for phones, tv's etc. i think im going to check them out. btw I got a screen protector for the phone should help with drops.

Ive just made a software update and so far no big issues just some at the begin...

Lets hope this keeps so. I have insurance since the phone is just 2 months old so that wont be a problem.

Its just very annoying this.

If anyone has experienced this and knows a solution or haves an idea please tell me.
