Problem with SD card games

Ravags

Lurker
Okay, so I just got my new Galaxy S4. Immediately I bought 64GB SD card.
I bought games like Bloons TD 5 and moved them to SD card in "my files". Then when I tried to open them a download screen popped up and said "Download failed, you might not have purchased the app". The same with Real Football 2013 which is a free app. When i opened it it said like Download failed too. Now that's not a problem, I just simply uninstalled it and installed again. But the Bloons is pissing me off, since i don't like to waste money. Anyone got a solution?

The quick answer mate is that the s4 just wont run apps from your external SD card and the s4 is now infamous for having only half its internal SD available to the user :(
If i was you, id look into rooting the phone and either clear some of the samsung crap out or make the phone think the external sd is its internal one

If you moved the files and folders manually then that might be the problem. There are specific ways to move apps to SD Card otherwise the shortcuts and system files won't be updated so it won't know where the files are any more, hence the error message.

You should be able to move them successfully in Settings > Applications > Manage Applications (or something similar) But you will have to move the original files and folders back to their original location first, or just delete them and reinstall from the Play store.

EDIT: I've just seen this in another thread...

Google dont want apps installed on External SD mate, aparently its a security risk and id guess its how things are gona be from now on.
This is why modern phones (like yours) call their internal memory SD Card or SD Card0, it is basicly a flash memory chip inside the phone. Google dont even want us using external memory cards lol, luckily phones like Samsung, Sony, still include them.

so I guess my suggestion is out-dated now :o Apologies to funkylogik for assuming you had missed something, you clearly know more than me :o

I have the S4 and the only games that run from the SD card have that option when you first install them. I have the Bards Tale and that allows internal or external storage.

If they don't give the option then I don't think they will run unless you root and use an app to do it.

Okay thanks everybody, I'll be more cautious with this stuff in future. Seems like my Bloons is gone tho, gonna have to buy it again. Oh well, no can do.
