I have an HTC Desire phone running Android 2.2 on Virgin Mobile UK.
All of the contacts I use on my phone are in the 'My Contacts' group of my Gmail account.
If I log into my Gmail account on a PC and edit a contact, for example changing a phone number, it syncs immediately with the phone.
But if I edit a contact's phone number using the default 'People' app on my phone handset, it briefly shows as edited on the phone only to 're-sync' with the 'PC' version of the contact and reversing my edit.
This has had the effect that when I have updated somebody's phone number using my phone handset, within minutes the new number has disappeared and the old one is there again.
I only realised this was happening today. As a result, several of my contacts have out of date numbers!
Please could somebody advise how to get around this? I don't want to have to go to use a PC every time I want to update a contact's phone number...
