Help Problem with WiFi and receiving data

For some odd reason, if my phone's screen is off for about 10 minutes, it will disconnect me from my wifi, and sometimes the wifi turns off on my phone.

Second problem is for some reason I won't receive any data if I'm not under wifi. For example, I won't receive any email or updates from scorecenter if I'm not on wifi, and it will send me all that info at one time once I am connected to wifi again.
Can someone please help me with this problem?

Thanks in advance

Its sounds like one of the battery profiles. Check the one you have selected and see when it turns off data during non peak hours and how long after the screen is off. You might have to use the customize profile. (I had this same problem when using the battery saver profile.)

Another place to check is the WiFi Sleep policy setting.

Go into Settings, Wireless & Network Settings Wi-Fi Settings.... Then, hit the Menu button and choose ADVANCED.

The default for the "WiFi Sleep Policy" is to switch your Data from WiFi to Mobile when the screen turns off.
Try changing that to NEVER.
