Help problem with youtube app

I can watch videos normally but after a while, it starts lagging like crazy. it gets to the point where there is no image and only sound. The only way to fix this is to turn my phone completely off and on again. Does anyone know how I can fix this re-occurring problem without having to turn my phone off and on?
By the way, I watch the vids with wifi connection so I cant blame metro's 1x speed.

are you running any custom rom or are you rooted? if you are make a backup of that youtube and, then unistall it and wipe data, then go to market and look for youtube and download that and install it, and see how it goes from there

actually, I have the stock 2.1 rom

hmm, take out your battery for over a minute and your SD card as well. Then try it again, or did you try that already? If you did than go to manage apps and go to your youtube app and clear Data and Cache, and try again. Also how long is that video you trying to watch?

its not a particular video I try to watch; it just happens randomly. Besides, most of the vids on youtube i watch don't go over 10 min. I haven't tried your method because if fixes itself when i turn the phone off and on. My question was if there was another way to solve this problem. thanks anyway though. :)

sounds like you need a cache cleaner especially on stock rom, cause all the bloatware and lag issues it have already, and cache buildup will slowyou down even more.
