Help Problems after day 1 : Can anyone help?

First problem:

I have a friend named Gen, I don't know his last name. When I put his contact information in, it will not display his name on my contact list only his telephone number (As if I left the name field blank). If I add a last name, his name will appear on the contact list under the first letter of his last name, unlike all other contacts who appear by the first letter of their first name. If I add an extra 'n' to his name as in Genn, it will show up like the rest. I have no idea why this is happening. I have other friends with 3 letter names who appear just fine under my contacts.

Second problem:

Google Earth is shown in the

Under Settings, go to Accounts, and your sync settings will be there. Make sure you have your google account set to sync mail, contacts, and calendar.

Under my account settings for my Gmail account to sync settings I have only these 4 options:

Sync Browser
Sync Contacts
Sync Gmail
Sync Google Photos

There is not Calendars option...should there be?

It's strange to me that you only have those sync options. Maybe delete you Google account off of the phone and re-enter it? I'm waiting for the Nexus on Verizon, so I don't actually have one, though I do have a Dinc running MIUI right now.

Sounds like you're on docomo like I am?

Anyway, it seems like I had the exact same calendar syncing problem like you did. But after an hour or so of frustration, I found out that on the calendar's gmail sign-in screen, clicking on the option button at the top right corner under where the time is displayed asks you to do a browser sign-in. After doing so the calendar synced without any problems for me. Hopefully this works for you too.

And initially, I thought that Google Earth wasn't installed on my phone, but when Android market told me it was already installed, I simply found it in the apps tray as 'Earth'.

I just got the Verizon Nexus this morning and had the EXACT same issue with calendar not appearing as a sync option. Using the browser sign-in worked perfectly, thanks Jei!
