Help problems changing sd cards htc desire hd

hi to ya all,
big problem, brand new desire hd and needed to change the 8gb card to 32gb which is a kingston, copied contents of 8gb to desktop and then back to the 32gb in phone, all ok but no music at all and some corrupted photos, what am i doing wrong!!! new to this game and probably not best to use tech talk as i wont understand.....doh! but if anyone can help i would very much appreciate it, thanks

Check if it is *really* a 32GB card, there are loads of fakes about. Check out other threads on this - they'll give you SW to download and check this out. Can't remember the names off the top of my head ....

yes its showing as a 32gb and i'm weary from looking at other threads they dont seem to give me my specific prob and sorry for being a bozo but whats "sw" /frank

Format the SD card in your pc with 32kb cluster size and to FAT32, it's always best to format an SD card even if it's brand new, could solve your problems.

tried formating new card, all files go across from desktop , inc music files but when put in phone it says "no music found" and when putting in card reader it confirms there is no music, but i see it going in there!!! its doing my head in.....

also heres a weird one, the folder on my desktop which contains the original files from my 8gb card has of course a folder called "music" when i open it and choose a song windows media opens and plays it, so far no problem, then i open up the 32gb card in the card reader and choose same song which i have copied from desktop, windows media player cannot open it? it says windows media player cannot play the file, so something is not right here.......help!!

'SW' is short hand for 'software' - sorry, been in IT too long. The *fake* cards will report that they are 32GB. You need to ensure that they can actually hold 32GB of data. The package I mentioned is 'H2testw'. Get it from ... Download H2testw - Test hacked flash memory - MyMPx ... use it to test if you really can get 32GB on the card. Or just create a directory with 30GB (ish) in and see if it all loads.

well blow me down with a feather, its a fake 32gb and just at the time i realised i got an email from ebay advising me NOT to buy from the place where i'd bought it from, anyway i hav sent back and hopefully will get my money back, just purchased 32gb from Play.com so fingers crossed it will be fine, and by the way i thought it was funny when i connected the dud 32gb card to pc and there was a folder on the "new" card called "private" with a file inside that, so buyers beware on ebay, never had a prob with ebay before but thats life i suppose, the new card ordered is twice the price i paid on ebay so thats food for thought. cheers to all who helped
