Root Problems flashing CM7.1

As the title states, I cannot for the life of me flash cm7!

Ive tried 4 or 5 times now, wiped and cleared dalvik cache and still no luck.

Could anyone suggest how I go about fixing this?

Did you do a factory reset? If not, that'll be the problem.

You could only get away with not doing it with some of the more recent cyanogen nightlies, most likely.

I went to the reset thing on clockwork mod and it just went to no no no yes so I picked yes! I'll flash 7.0 and update through cwm!

Right so I'm running cm7 and I actually really like vanilla android! But I don't have android market app, why is this?

Google asked cyanogen not to distribute it with their roms, so you have to flash it as a seperate .zip.

You should the gapps package listed on the ROM Manager downloads page. Best way to make sure you have the most recent, up to date version.

I've done it! Thanks!

I'm really loving having no sense tbh, although I do miss a few Widgets! And being able to hold A and get ! Lol :P

The only widget I missed was the good ol' flip clock. Luckily there are loads of clones in the market :p

Why did they do that? What makes it ok for other devs to include it in theirs?

I'm not sure. I didn't pay an awful lot of attention to the story at the time as I hadn't rooted.

I've seen a few other devs that have used the seprrate package, always non-sense roms I think.
