Root Problems flashing Roms...

Ok, I have an Evo, software 3.70.651.1, Android 2.2, Baseband 2.15.00.11.19, and hardware version 0003. When the Unrevoked version 3.3 came out I used it to root my phone, no problem. I used the stock ROM for about a day, then flashed Fresh 3.5 using ROM Manager and clockworkmod, again no issues. Then I decided to try Myn's Warm Rom, and the problems started. If I try to flash any ROM, it aborts. Then I re-installed ROM Manager and changed the recovery to AMON RA 1.8. Went through the wiping process three times, and then tried to flash, and still got errors. When I'm using Amon RA, it freezes on the splash screen. Then I have to re-install the stock PC36IMG file, and start from the beginning. I am able to restore my Fresh 3.5 ROM I saved using ROM Manager, but I can't use any others. If you have any ideas of what I can do, other than stick with the Fresh 3.5 I had working, let me know.

Flashing the version of Amon RA from ROM Manager has been known to cause issues with hboot versions 2.02 and 2.10. Have you tried manually installing Myn's?

Here's a thread that explains more in detail why this is and how to avoid problems in the future.

I was just reading on that thread. How can I manually install Myn's? I'm not sure what you mean by that.

*EDIT*

Ok, after reading through, I found out I have the new partition size. So I am currently downloading the modified version of AMON_RA, and i will try that.

Download Myn's here HTC Supersonic-ROM's, place the zip in the root directory of your sd card, then boot into recovery. Once there, select "choose zip from sd card", select the ROM, and flash (don't forget to make a nandroid backup and wipe dalvik-cache before hand obviously).

Yeah, that I have done, but with the wrong version of Amon_RA (according to what I read in the thread). Will try again with the new modified version after backup is done.

*EDIT*

Great news, it worked awesome! Apparently my problem for the last few days has been using clockworkmod (which is the only one that kinda worked) and using the unmodified version of AMON_RA 1.8

Glad it worked out for you! Now enjoy Myn's! :D

Instead of making a new thread, I will piggy back on this. I am also having trouble with Myn's.

I have 3.3 build, .97 Hboot and am using Clockwork 2.5 after the brand new update screwed up the flashes.

So I have tried 3 different methods.

Clockwork
RA
Rom Manager download

And I never get past the white EVO screen at all. It installs fine and said it's complete but the phone never boots and I always have to do a nandroid restore. I do the whole 9 yards which is wipe everything and then install.

Wanted to see if it was an issue with flashing all roms so I flashed the new CM 6.2 and it worked just fine.

Any idea on the issue here?

Okay, double piggy back. I've really kanged something up here. Last night I helped my brother root his brand new evo via unrevoked: no probs. Here's the approximate sequence of last night's horror story.
After root, install Titanium--full back up.
Nandroid backup created in clockwork.
Attempt to install Myns 2.2 rel 4 with netarchy-toastmod 4.1 Install of rom aborted, error something to do with busybox and line 15. The kernel did install. At this point, we could still get back to the stock rom, but the screen was tearing.

I thought the issue might have to do with clockwork, so we downloaded rom manager and flashed amon ra 1.8 (an older file I had).
Did another nandroid backup.
Attempt to flash Myns, but it still aborts.
Now the phone won't boot past the white screen, can still get back to recovery.
Read in Myn's xda post that new radios mess things up, so I flashed an older radio.
Still no dice.

At this point I know something is really wrong. So, attempt to nandroid restore. Looks like it works. But phone still sticks on white screen.
Attempted flash of a couple other roms (baked snack 1.8 and CM6.1.2) without success.

So here's where we're at:
Phone will boot into recovery
Will not flash a working rom
Will not nandroid restore.
Will not boot past white screen.

I'll attempt the modified amon ra listed above. I should be able to install via fast boot, right? I have no experience with adb push. Optimistic.

This is crazy: on my older (by a couple of months) evo, all this stuff works flawlessly! Last night was really frustrating.

-Copy the PC36IMG.zip to the root of your SD Card
-Power off your phone
-While holding the VOLUME DOWN button, power on your phone into bootloader
-The phone will scan for a PC36IMG.zip
-Once prompted, install the update and reboot

This should take you back to where you need to go.

Okay. Thanks for that. My bro is coming over in a couple of hours, and I'll let you know how it goes.
I've been reading Myn's thread on xda for the last hour, and it looks like we have a couple of issues:
1--wrong radios
2--wrong version of recovery (amon-ra)

When he gets here, I'll try to fix those things. Hope for best!

Ive tried that one it will load roms but when i go back and flash a kernal iy puts me back at the white start up screen and wont load up?

Have you tried Amon RA with the patch (modified) yet? Is that why you're looking for the unmodified version?

Well i tried it but i cant flash a kernal it just puts me back at the white start up screen. And ive got all the newest hardware on the evo but i did flash myn4 rom but no kernal.

Ok i tried the one threw rom manager it let me load a rom but no kernal it locks up on white screen. So which ever is the other is the one i need i guess. Sorry bout that.

I'm not gonna lie...this save my brother's a**.
I flashed this the alternate Amon recovery as a PC36, then flashed this working rom. From there, downgraded radios to pri 1.77, and was able to flash Myns rel 4 + Netarchy toastmod.
He's happy!
