Root Problems flashing roms

So I finally rooted my replacement phone. I used htcdev, no problems there, installed TWRP then flashed my superuser. I got titanium backup and backed up my stuff. Then I made a nandroid backup. Now I go get vVper4g and superwipe put them on the root of my sd card. I flash superwipe( I didnt use their wipe )then i flash Viper. Everything installs fine so I rebot and let it sit for at least 10 mins, stays on the boot screen. So I boot into recovery and this time I use their wipe same result. So now I get stock rooted 3.16 from the sticky and same thing, stuck on the boot screen.
I'm s-on
hboot- 2.09.0000
radio- 1.12.11.120

Not sure where to go from here

What version of TWRP did you install?

Might not be a bad idea to reflash the latest TWRP via fastboot and try again.

With Viper, I've had a few hiccups with the wiping. Just use the wipe option in the aroma installer ( the program that launches when you flash Viper), dont flash that superwipe file. :)

Also, this rom has the kernel installer baked in, but sometimes the kernel doesn't flash. Try to flash the kernel manually after the rom installs. Use this guide to do this properly: http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-lte-all-things-root/606748-how-install-kernels-h-boot-1-15-wip.html

Seems very strange that even the stock rom isn't flashing properly, hence the advice to re-flash TWRP. Let us know if any of these work, then we'll go from there. :)

Last but not least, a lot of these issues go away when you get full S-off. I'd try to get S-off, but thats just me. If you want to go for it, we're here to help, if not, we'll still be here to help. :)

I have 2.4.1 TWRP, I'll try flashing the new version first. Will everything from the new version jive with the old, as far as existing backups and what not? I'm still working my way up to s-off, I've never seen unbutu much less run commands in it :-)

yep i am on the newest one and did not have any issues with old nandroid backups.

most of us have never had any experience with ubuntu.....i'm still not very well versed in it other then what is used for dirty racun.

The rom needs to install twice to get the kernel installed. Your TWRP is fine where it is. I speak from personal experience. You just rebooted instead of installing a second time. I did the same exact thing a few weeks ago when I got my replacement phone. Didn't have time to get s-off so I unlocked and flashed either viper or meanbean. I know it had to install twice and there was a prompt to reinstall or reboot. Try it again.
