Help problems getting contacts recognised on new sim

Hi, I hope you can help this is my first post. I have just bought a HTC Wildfire and I imported my contacts from my old SIM. Then I changed to a new SIM (Tesco pay monthly bundle) and the phoone shows all the contacts I imported but when I ring one it says number not recognised. What do I need to do?

Do I need to export them to a microSD card then import them back? Or is that a daft idea? I hope you will tell me a simpler way!

TIA, Ruth

Maybe a stupid question but you mean it won't dial the number? Have you got a signal? I had a Tesco sim for all of about 2 weeks, couldn't get a signal at home so got rid of it. Are you able send text messages and/or receive calls?

Yes I have a signal and can call, text, connect to wifi etc it's just that if I tap on a contact in the address book (people as it's called on htc) it doesnt recognise it and I have to tap the number in myself. And no the numbers are correct and were dialling okay before, it's clearly something to do with changing to a new sim after importing the contacts.

Ok click into People so you have some of your contacts on your screen, press Menu, then View. Is Sim-card ticked in? If not tick it on and that may well solve it.
