Root Problems Making Rom

I've been working on making my own rom from the stock 2.2 rom made available by b-randon14 with rom kitchen for ubuntu newest one and it makes me change the updater script but I just make a back up of mine and when it comes flashing time I just put it back but I have a few questions. How do I remove odex files from system/app im wanting to change the launcher but when I boot into my rom I just get black scrreen with status bar and im trying to theme other launchers to no again so could someone please help me kinda new and want to get into the rom scene thank you(:

you don't necessarily need a rom kitchen to make a rom for 2.2 you can edit and add mods directly into the zip assuming your base is a deodexed rom and you add a custom kernel

Hey I'm on mobile right now so I can't really write any guides... but, pm Mobstergunz. I taught him alot about roms and themes. You can also pm me.

Also, feel free to use me and Mobstergunzs roms as a starter if you'd like :D

yes, feel free to grab our roms and use them however you like :)
