Help Problems pairing with bluetooth

Bertieee

Lurker
Hello,

I'm having some trouble getting my nexus 7 and Z3 compact to pair via bluetooth. They can both see each other and when I select one of them they try to connect and I get the below on both screens (obviously the device name is different on them), however regardless of which one I press pair on first or whether I do it at the same time it doesn't connect. Sometimes it says it failed and other times it just doesn't work. I actually have the same issue pairing my phone to the car - the car comes up with the pairing code and I get the below screen on my phone, but when I press pair it instantly says 'authorization failed' on the car display.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Make sure only one of the devices is in the Bluetooth settings page (call it 1at device here) when you try and pair. Just make sure the other one is "discoverable" and return it to home screen then scan from the 1st device. Should get a notification on 2nd device to enter code.
See if that works (total semi-gueas)

Unfortunately I can't do that - I have to have the bluetooth settings open to make it discoverable, which is the same screen you use to select the device to connect to, but thanks for the suggestion.

Ah right, sorry bout that. Just realised my phone is the same. Must be something new because I remember you could make it stay discoverable for like 2 minutes or something..
