Help Problems - Physical buttons don't light up and Random Shut Downs

Anyone experience these problems?

My buttons won't light up when I'm in a dark environment.

My screen is currently on auto brightness. I don't think its lowering the brightness one bit when it's dark...

Turn automatic brightness on, or turn it off then back on.

Sounds software related. Did you run the update 1?

There was never a prompt for me to download any updates. If there was, they probably did it in store for me. They just told me to enter my google account info and just took over from there.
