Welcome to AF.com. Which phone is it? It really depends on the phone you have. This is not a general Android issue.

What's the format and codec of the video? What bitrate was it encoded at? Resolution?

Have you tried rebooting? Do you have this problem if nothing else is running on your device?

You could also try some alternative media players like moboplayer and rockplayer.

how do i reboot ?

Press and hold the power button till the boot menu appears, then choose reboot. Alternately, you can pull the battery, replace it and then power on the phone.
