Root Problems re-rooting after latest .621 update!

Be very careful. I did try to SBF back to .602, and am getting the dreaded A5,70,70,00,1F MEM_MAP Blank error. If anyone is still on .621, has/hasn't rooted, and is handy with sbf_flash in Linux, I'd appreciate a PM to see if I can't fix this small problem. (and before you ask, tried the .602 and .340 SBFs. Both break, hard.)

Sorry for this but this is my first post. I will update with a link that i think will help this as it happened to me as well. Hold tight.

I ran into this same problem. I rooted 2.3.3 and, without thinking, took the update without backing up. I tried flashing and got the A5,70,70,00,1F MEM_MAP Blank error as well. To fix I went here: Motorola SBF Files and downloaded the 621.sbf file for my DX. After that I flashed using the sbf flash method in linux and it fixed my situation. Now if I could only get my root back. Hope this helps.

Here are the instructions to make the annoying update notifications to go away:

I was lucky. I had rooted just a little while before I first received the notification to update. Not knowing any better, I tried to update, but it failed. Then I came to this forum to find out what to do and found out the probable reason it failed was because I had already removed some of the stupid bloatware that came with the standard installation. I also found out that I am better off not updating.
