Okay so I have followed 5 tutorials and read about 3 and they all tell me the same thing. The fastboot needs to be off and the usb debugging needs to be on. The only problem seems to be is that i do not have the option to turn the fastboot on and off. It should be in the applications>Developement page but nothing. Plus i have something that i havent seen on any of the videos i have referenced. Its just a quick launch button. When i run visionary it doesn't temp root.... I have now tried about 100x. It wont root and i have also tried 5 different versions of visionary and visionary plus. Can anybody help???

This is a forum that tells you how to root the G2 without Visionary. I first had to flash that file down below. My phone got S-Off with no root. Visionary had messed up some files, so it wouldn't root. I was partially there though.

This is the mediafire file. The below gives a little information on what you're actually flashing and how to flash it. It'll still link you to the mediafire file, though, so both links still end in the same place.

This is a file you might need to flash if you can't temp boot since you used visionary. Visionary messes up some phones, so you need to flash the phone back to it's factory state. Meaning the state it was in before the OTA update Tmo did. Like the factory state when the phone was being first sold in Oct 2010. LoL!! I did this and it's working fine for me. And the data says 3G when you're on 3G and H when you're on H, after you flash that file.
