Help Problems sending MMS messages to other carriers

this isn't recent with the Sprint thing, I know she had that phone for 2 years (contrat length) before switching to verizon and we sent kid pics back and forth the whole time she had it. Sprint may not "support" it but it seems to work. IIRC I had to crunch my pics down or she would get an error occasionally, never looked into whether it was her phone or Sprint. You could always try sending to the phonenumber@pm.sprint.com and see if it goes through for a workaround.
 
I'll be damned. I can't send anything to my sister with an Iphone either! This must be a problem on AT&T's end... This is bs though!
 
AT&T doesn't let iPhones do MMS until the 3g or 3gs, for whatever reason.

You can technically unlock MMS, but AT&T will block you when they figure it out (quickly).
 
Talked to the version rep when i was getting my replacement eris (after 5 days) he said he has never heard of this problem. he basically said its not versions fault
 
I haven't tried to send any pics but I sent a ring tone to one of my friends on cricket and the other on t-mo, they both received the mp3. I haven't sent any mms to anyone on ATT. I know we're on the subject of pics but I thought I would share.
 
Only one I can't seem to send MMS to is to people using an iPhone... I have friends who use AT&T but have different phones, and they can receive MMS from me just fine, as well as send MMS to me.... I've also sent/received MMS to/from Sprint and T-Mobile... The iPhone seems to be the ONLY one with the problem. I just figure Apple and Google just don't like each other :-) lol

I've had problems with iphone users getting mms sending from many dfferent phones, I think its simply the iphone, iphones users will claim your phone just doesnt have the awesomeness needed and is not worthy to send mms
 
I stopped at a VZW store yesterday and asked the manager about this. She said the iphone blocks incoming mms. The only way to send would be to the phones email address... Simple enough I guess, but still sucks! Anybody know what the AT&T email address is for iphones? I know vzw is yournumber@vtext.com, I think... right?
 
i'm having this issue too! but the only thing that seems to be different from everyone elses situation is that until about a month and a half ago, i COULD send mms to iphones! then all the sudden in about early january, my friend w/ the iphone started to not be able to get my mms. i've tried everything from resetting thru cust services instruction, to resizing the pics, to changing the msg app i'm using (used stock messager, then chomp, then handset), also have (thru suggestion of another forum) sent mms w/ a subject and text w/in the mms. i called verizon and they said that there is no error message on their end and that it is at&ts fault somehow (i have no idea if this is true). i tried to send the mms to another person who had an iphone just to be sure and the same thing happened. a friend of mine who owns an eris also is going through this. however this does not seem to be the case for moto droid users. i dont know if this is something that will be fixed in whatever update we're waiting for, but its been going on for me for about a month and a half and i'm so tired of calling tech support and waiting for some update. (and yes, my phone is currently up to date) all i can think to do is any eris user who is having this problem call it in so they can log it, and have your iphone friends do the same so they can create a ticket on there end!
 
why are you complaining to verizon that ONLY iphones won't receive mms? the iphone users should be complaining to ATT that they cant receive. Please take a deep breath and say to yourself "the iphone is not better than my phone, the iphone is not better than my phone"
Updates won't have anything to do with it, my iphone buddies never get my pics either for the last month now, hate to sound like a conspiracy theorist but I'm starting to wonder if ATT isnt blocking the incoming mms for some sinister reason.
 
i totally agree w/ you, which is why i stated to get iphone users to call this in too to create some sort of ticket.

i just wish i knew why i was able to send them mms, then all the sudden.. nope, cant do it... hmmm
 
Who knows well prolly get sued because they got awarded the patent for "the exchange of media by means other than us postal service"
Complete with diagrams and pretty pictures done on a MAC
 
Could it be something to do with the file size of the MMS that is allowed to go over the particular network? I have 0 issues sending messages to people form my Eris if they are on VZW. I'm wondering if the MMS size is too large for ATT. I'll try turning up the compression to see what happens and report back.
 
I'm having the same issue. I have the Incredible from Verizon. And as much as I love my phone, I don't think it's an iphone issue. Reason being, prior to 4 days ago I had a blackberry on the Verizon network and I was able to send pics to iphone users with no problem at all.

Has anyone ever figured this out??
 
Not sure if anyone is still reading this but I found a solution, not always ideal, but it works! If you add a caption to the picture it goes through ALL the time...yes, to iPhones too!
