I've had my Android Optimus V for a while now and every since I bought it, it takes the phone anywhere from about 15 seconds to 2 minutes to send a text message. It's extremely annoying when I'm trying to plan things. I've noticed that when I'm texting certain contacts that it only takes about 15 seconds but for other contacts it can take an abnormally long amount of time.

Have you tried one of the 3rd Party Messaging apps, GoSMS, Handcent etc? Does it do the same thing with either of those?
