Help Problems unlocking Vibrant

I have a Samsung Virbrant, or T-Mobile T959, which from what I can tell is a Galaxy S.

I am trying to unlock it to use the sim card from another network...., and just can't get it to work at the moment.

I have tried various methods including using sgux2.exe, hex editing nv_data.bin and using galaxy_s unlock.

Nothing seems to work, and the most I can get is that the unlock code is a series of F's, which it clearly is not.

What can I do to actually unlock this phone?

Additionally, the unlock prompt no longer comes up when inserting a sim card from another carrier.....

One piece of advice might be to stop assuming things, when you have no reason to do so.

If this is the wrong forum, could you suggest the right forum?

Sorry about that mate and thanks for the advice.
The forum you are looking for is .....the Vibrant forum.

nv_data.bin from offset 181468 contains : ff 00 00 00 00 00 46 46

I set the permissions and an md5 file was recreated...so it should all be fine, but so far no dice.

Try the SGS Unlock from Market. Just pay $5 for the pro version that lets you unlock/relock with just a few presses of buttons.

FYI, I think you need to root your phone first for it to work.

I did root my phone, and would rather not pay for something I should be able to do myself. Most of those apps just take care of modifying nv_data.bin, which I've done, so I'm not even sure they would work.
