Help Problems using handsfree calling in car - Droid X

SmokeyY2J

Lurker
I recently purchased a new vehicle that has a radio with handsfree calling capabilities. I have no problems pairing my phone to the radio and really no problems telling it to call people in my contacts. The problem starts when it attempts to make the call. I never heard a ringtone and the call is disconnected. When I go back to my phone and I hit the phone button, all I get is a black screen and there's no getting out of it, I have to reboot the phone.

Last night, I had a friend test his phone out. He has an EVO running Android and had absolutely no problem with calling. Is this something wrong with the DXs?

Oh, and I have already done a System Reset. I had to do that a few weeks ago when an update messed up the Navigation app.

Thanks for any help you can give.

When you reset, (or wipe data) you can wipe out some of the settings in the BT pairings.

When I ROM my DX, sometimes I find I have to re-pair and re-sync my DX with my car headunit for it to work correctly.

Start by deleting the paring from the DX (if you haven't already). Then look to see if there is a menu option to delete the pairing from your cars headunit (nav unit whatever)

OR generically a BT reset on your car.

Then start over, problem should go away.
