Help Problems using Samsung Galaxy2s Voice Talk

Hi-
I recently switched over from a Blackberry Curve to the Samsung Galaxy s2. I like the phone and all the fun things it can do, but am having some beginners issues with it. Texting was so easy on the Blackberry and adjusting back to a flat screen is a challange. Do most of you use the keyboard app that comes with the phone, or are there other keyboard apps I can use. I downloaded a free trial of Smart Keyboard and have been using it. I really miss the BB shortcuts like holding down key to capitalize, etc.

My second question concerns the Voice Talk features. I like this idea, and it was one of the reasons I selected this phone. I set it up and it worked at first, but now I give the phone the command, it thinks about it and then goes back to the menu screen. I spent 3 hrs with T-Mobile trying to fix it with no luck- they recommend I upgrade to V4 to see if that would fix the problem but before I do that, I wanted to ask if anyone else has problems with Voice Talk.

Thanks so much!!

Not sure bout the voice app, but have toy tried using the Swype keyboard? When I first tried it,I didn't like it, but now its all I use :-)

I have not had any problems with the voice commands. Are you using the Vringo powered one or google voice command. They are different and look a bit different. I like the Samsung or Vringo powered one because it works better but personal preference - make sure you have good connection to the internet when you use these things. Sometimes it will not find anything because it is having connection problems or just not the correct command. If you see an error message after it tries to execute something you should take a snapshot and post it so we can try to figure it out.

For the keyboard - Blackberry really has only that going for it. The physical keyboard is nice especially for a guy like me who has basketball player hands and cannot press tiny virtual buttons correctly. I hate the original keyboard (samsung keyboard) and swype is kinna useless the way I see it. I have a fat big thumb that rolls past the first button I am trying to press. I use swiftkey x and it is awesome - predictions are really good when I smash 3 extra buttons and it also offers my first language Bulgarian.

Anyway hope this helps

Thanks, Alex- I will give swiftkey a try!! I am using Vringo powered voice talk-I can say Hi Galaxy and the phone asks what I want to do, I reply and the phone thinks about it and then goes back to the Hi Galaxy screen- frustrating!!

Yeah, try the above, unfortunately nothing will be like the curve, I could write a damned research paper on that thing the typing is so good. (also navigating menus etc without looking, all the things physical keys give you...)
