I did it and couldn't tell a difference, but my sound quality was already excellent to begin with. It may help you. Just be very careful not to change any of the other settings.
I've only had one call that sounded bad. It was echoing but I was in an area where I think I had a bad signal. Other than that, the sound is as good or better than my landline.
This actually happen to me today. All I did was pull battery out for a minute. then dial *228 option 1 to reprogram phone. Then dial *228 once more option 2 and the static was gone. I don't know which one actually fixed it but it work.
I'm having the same issue with echoing for everyone on the other end of the phone and my end keeps cutting out. I actually had my phone swapped out because of it. It seemed to start the second time when I agreed to the recent google maps upgrade. Is this a setting change i need to do??? I can hardly talk on my phone now unless I use bluetooth....
