Help Problems with Gingerbread update??

Sorry if this question has been asked before but ive spent a day looking for answers and ive been coming up empty. OK i have a prevail and received an update from boost for gingerbread. It failed to download, saying the update zip folder was empty. I'm assuming since my phone is rooted that it not going to let it download. First i tried to put the new ops on my sd card named it update zip. No go. Now I'm trying to do it manually. Found this...... Odin (Return phone to Stock/Factory) updated 11/09 and used..DOWNLOAD EJ06 Gingerbread Rooted Image with CWM5 made by Chin Checka. I then downloaded Kies for the drivers for my phone and linked it up with Odin using port five. Followed the instructions...obviously not well put phone in download mode... It said something like big partion and then rebooting. Op is still the same 2.2 froyo. Did i miss some thing?? Any ideas
