I'm trying to create an ext partition on my 16GB SD card. There is about 3GB free space on the card.
I've followed SUroot's guide to creating a VM for Gparted (thanks for the guide - very easy to use!), and that went well enough.
I have ClockworkMod 4.0.1.4, and I selected the "mount USB storage" option. When I set the "High Android Phone" to be connected to the VM, I can see the SD card in Gparted as /dev/sdb1, but it has a yellow triangle next to it. The partition information says that it is not mounted:
Consequently, Gparted will not allow me to change this partition.
I'm confused. CWM recovery says that USB Mass Storage is mounted. And if it isn't mounted, how is Gparted managing to report information back on it?
Most importantly: What can I do to allow Gparted to modify the partition and create a new one?
Alternatively, is it safe to use the CWM "Advanced | Partition SD Card" option to create the ext partition? I saw some posts that this caused some bricked phones with an earlier version of cwm, so I'm not too keen to try it unless anyone knows it has been fixed!
