Help Problems with Launcher pro plus

stock droid here. any of you have problems with the LP +? Ever since the new OTA update it has been glitchy and freezes up quite a bit
 
0.8.2 has been fine for me BUT I do not use any of the social aspects like FB and Twitter functions. I use everything else though.
 
What you're experiencing is LP butting up against the memory limit for Android apps. This is why the developer is going through an entire re-write of the application, which he says may be done by Q1 2011. I'm one of those guys who uses just about every feature of LPPro, from widgets to multiple docks to 3D app drawer. I get at least one FC a day if I try to push the app too hard, i.e. re-draws, quick inputs, etc.
 
appreciate the response. I really like the launcher as well as the beautiful widgets I have running. I'm afraid I'm pushing my stock droid with what I have running and will probably have to root it to boost performance soon. I have just read a bit on here how cyanogen mod and others are really what is needed to see what the phone can do.

true BUT this has nothing to do with the recent 0.8.2 release. it has always really been this way. so, when the OP said "recent release" it seemed to me he was experiencing something different than what you mention as what you mention has been talked about in 100 threads all over the web and is a pretty well documented issue and said issue never really included "fore closes" the OP talks about. Mostly it included slow redraws and home screen icons lagging to load.
 
On my LauncherPro+, I disabled rotation for the launcher, and virtually never get a FC or redraw issue anymore
 
man, I love the ability to rotate so would not be willing to part with that function. I always hated that the stock OS did not allow rotation of home screens unless the keyboard was open. the 3D drawer is pretty badass as well.
 
hey guys,

I've got a stock Droid (not rooted...yet) and read a lot about LauncherPro before downloading it and upgrading to plus last week (0.8.2).

it's beautiful and works well most of the time, but occasionally goes nuts on me: the screen will bug out, acting as if i'm touching all over it and scrolling quickly up/down; it'll occasionally freeze for minutes at a time; there's a looong wait time on some apps to open or function.

i've disabled all the widgets on my stock Home launcher, i've shut off a lot of functions in LauncherPro+, i did a complete reinstall, but still having troubles with it. the screen wigging out on me is probably the most shocking element of this, as sometimes it'll happen when i'm doing something important (like navigating in my car).

any suggestions? are there any apps out there with known conflicts with LauncherPro?
