Help Problems with LG G3 touch screen

shyl0ck

Lurker
About ten minutes after I finished a phone call, I noticed that the upper-right two thirds of the screen are unresponsive. I can't even unlock the phone - all numbers except 1, 4, and 7 are unresponsive on the lock screen, as is the ok button.

Does anyone know what's wrong? I've dropped it in the past, but this seems out of the blue. Screen has one minor crack in the corner from months ago, nothing since.

WELCOME TO ANDROID FORUMS shyl0ck ! :thumbsupdroid:

I think you've answered your own question here & have been living on borrowed time,so to speak, since the drop & screen crack.

I dunno. The screen crack is in the corner away from where the screen is unresponsive, and the phone functioned 100% fine til now.

I'm certain the unresponsiveness is due to physical causes, whether it be a drop/crack,or,just wear & tear, whether it be related to the two issues you mentioned or not.
No 100% way to tell for certain.
Unfortunately,a factory warranty likely won't be honored,if you're still within the time frame & there's virtually 0% chance LG has a software fix.
An app/software issue just doesn't make sense.
However, since you have nothing to lose, may as well try some screen calibrating apps from the play store,or,if the software has this built-in somewhere in the device settings, try that out.

You're probably right. Unfortunately, there's no way to get screen calibrating apps for me because I can't even unlock the phone. Off to the store it is, I guess :/

Getting a different phone this time?
