Help Problems with Notification Sounds

Hello, first post lol

but anyway, i just bought a Samsung Galaxy S 4G and i have to say, its a damn near perfect phone. EXCEPT FOR THIS ONE THING, but when i get a my notifications, unless its for a text, dont make any noise!!

-facebook doesnt work
- email doesnt work
- words with friends doesnt work... etc etc etc

how can i fix this?

If you go to menu>settings>sound and scroll down to notifications, you can assign a notification for all notifications unless it's assigned by the specific app. If the notification sound is set to none, that's why you don't hear anything.

Okay, then go to the stock mail app and click on an account if you have more than one. Then go to menu>more>account settings and tell me what your notification sound is set to.

After that go to your home screen and select menu>settings>sound>volume and see if your volume for notifications is turned up.

i took your advice and applied to facebook and it worked!! so thank you for that. but the email still isnt working because its not acknowledging the fact that i received an email. i have it set so that it checks for emails every 5 minutes but im not getting a notification. On the rare occasion that it does though, it still doesnt make a sound

i have a choice for my at&t mail accounts but the gmail setting does not give me an option for sound.
