Help Problems with persistent programs

So how do you stop persistent programs,

for instance:
when i goto manage applications -> running services, fring is always running even if i don't run the app.

I will force stop the app, then minutes later, it will be back there again.

that's just one of them.

Amazon mp3 also does the same thing. it still comes back even if i use titanium backup to freeze the app.

how to deal with this?

Im going to assume you are on Froyo 2.2 and the recent updates . What is going on is when Android went to 2.2 , the OS automatically starts these programs when the phone first starts up or if you kill them manually in your task manager . The only way to stop this from happening is if you are rooted is to flash a Rom/Kernel that has these programs removed . Otherwise they will still continue to start up . Previously in 2.1 Automatic Task Killers would kill these programs and they would stay gone untill you fired them up or restarted the phone . That is not the case anymore , supposedly they sit in memory not running or draining power .
