I've gone from 1st gen Nexus to 2nd, and I do have some issues with the screen. When I compared the two side by side I noticed that the contrast range was much better on the old one, white was crisper and black was much darker on the old one. I've since compared the new tablet with working models at various branches of PC World and it's the same story. There's also a noticeable brownish tinge on my screen.
And there's another problem: AVI files at 624 x 352 res. played perfectly well on the old N7 but the very same files appear full of blocky artifacts on the new one... Is this something to be expected because of the higher res on the new N7? But then, the same files look perfectly ok on my pc.
I really would appreciate some opinions before going through the whole pain of sending it back to ASUS. Many thanks.
