Help Probs with calendar - can't edit dates

Hi All

I am syncing calendar entries from my google calendar and am using the stock calendar app. I have found that for some events when I try to edit them, I am able to edit the title of the event but the 'date from' and 'date to' boxes wont allow me to edit them. The appointment in question is a birthday so it is an annual repeating event. When editing this type of entry you are asked if you want to edit this event only, all events in the series, or this and all future events. I have tried all 3 options and can't edit the dates in any of them. Clearly, a calendar app should be capable of editing dates of ALL appointments.

BTW, the appointment that won't edit is from a calendar that I have edit rights to. It's not from facebook or anything like that, where I wouldn't expect edit rights.

Hope someone out there is able to help

Cheers

I am having the exact same problem on a Droid Incredible. The only way to edit a recurring event is to do so in the Google Calendar.

Any ideas?

Hi Guys,

I have the same issue with my corporate sync calendar entries for one of my work calendars - missing edit button, but I have found a valid workaround which works well for me. BTW, I am using a Motorola Defy On Android 2.1, Rooted.

If I create a calendar entry on my phone, I can edit it on both the phone and in Outlook, no problems (date, time, subject, contect, etc). But if it's created in Outlook on the PC (similar to being created in Google Calendar, etc) and sync'd to the phone, I cannot access an edit button and I cannot update the entry from the phone and I have to go to the PC to do so - not always convenient! Now this is isolated to just one of my corporate sync accounts, and I do not see this problem in the others I have (google and another corp sync account).

My workaround is to have a 3rd party calendar tool loaded on the phone to enable me to edit the entry if required when the standard droid app doesn't allow it. The app that works for me is free and is called "Touch Calendar Free" and I found it on the Android Marketplace, but try some others you come across if you like. When I come across an entry in my calendar which doesn't allow me to edit it (no edit button), I fire up Touch Calendar and edit it from there - works just fine and sync back to the Outlook calendar no problems.

It's only a work-around, not a fix, but it allows me to change an appointment on the phone that I would have otherwise would have had to go to the PC to change.

Let me know if it works for you guys!

Cheers.

Not sure how helpful this answer is but ....... I use Outlook (2010) on my PC and use this as my master contacts and calendar database. I use MyPhoneExplorer to sync this to my DHD and normally use Business Calendar as my calendar app on the phone. Just checked and I can edit any details of any appointment on my phone - with Business Calendar or the stock HTC calendar app.

I am running rooted and with a custom ROM (this one ... [ROM] Android Revolution HD™ 7.0.0 | High Quality & Performance | O/C | Legendary - xda-developers ... ) but this ROM is based on the stock one. I can't remember having problems even before I rooted my phone though.

So, as I said, maybe not too helpful ......
