Root Processor voltage?

Is there some reason we cant alter our cpu voltage so we could get better overclocks? I know alot of phones it can be done. Ive downloaded a few kernels but i dont know how to open them up or even what their wrote in. I've installed SDK and Eclipse and have it all up and running but Im not too sure what im doing yet lol. I have programming experience with various langauges I took classes in but im interested into getting into this java and c+. If noone feels like spoon feeding me (the noob) how to properly open the kernel files so i can edit them at least let me know why we dont have have options to control our cpu voltage.... In the meantime I'll be going over tutorials to get into this stuff.

You need to get kernel source......you can't just open a boot.img/zImage and edit it.
You have to build and edit source.

......do you have Ubuntu set up?
This doesn't work with windows. And if you do set up Ubuntu, use this version:
Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit
Do not update it either

You will have lots to do before you even can start building source.
 
No I don't have Ubuntu but I pulled the rock kernel source and have been scouring it. The langauge don't look to bad ill pick a book. The source pulls fine w eclipse why would I need Ubuntu?

Cause how else are you going to build it???? Goodluck trying to build with windows....
 
Ok I'm getting it now. Just gotta find a copy of Ubuntu now. Cut me some slack I was trained in basic,visual basic,HTML and some Pascal. This is quite a jump.
