Project: Storage Options Scroll Firmware Dev

I bought myself a storage options scroll so that I can mess around with android dev on a real device (I've only ever played with emulaters before). Unfortunately, the manufacturer have said they won't be officially supporting any new versions of Android (it ships with 2.1).

I was wondering if anyone else on this forum has a Scroll and would be interested in collaborating to produce a custom ROM for this device with 2.2 or maybe 2.3? I'm relatively new to android dev, but I've got good experience with Linux and Java in general. Are there any budding experts out there would would be willing to point me in the right direction (even pointing me towards some useful articles would be a great help )

Hey, someone is on this. I'm sure they'd love some help and I know I'd appreciate all you guys do, and pitch in a bit myself. I've routed my WAN and LAN for years with a Linux box and have run online hosting, etc. I'm no dev, but I'm sure I have uses.
