Root prollem accessing hboot

maybe this should have been obvious,but...

i was having trouble accessing hboot on my phone.its how i like to access recovery.

anyway,id hold volume down and power forever... and if id let go of one or the other it would boot normally. :mad: i think i have finally tracked it down to having "fastboot" enabled in settings. :eek:

anyone else noticed this? or is it some wierd sort of glitch im having? been the same on virus rom,and now on the ASOP flavored rom.

Noticed this too, first noticed it when I flashed virus rom for the first time. He has fastboot on by default, I was trying to flash the rom and then get back into CWM to flash some mods. It frustrated the hell out of me until I figured it out lol...
 
Did turning off fastboot in the settings menu help you boot into recovery from power off? I'm not sure why that would work.

I've only had my fastboot work when I was on Virus ROM actually lol. So no turning fastboot on doesn't do anything for me in terms of not booting into CWR while off.

However I have found out through trial and error that CWR will indeed charge the phone, the light just doesn't come on. I have no idea when Koush changed this but I was flashing and backing up last night with the phone pluged in and actually gained battery life after I had spent about an hour in CWR.
 
Interesting. Back to Scotty's question, can you power off -> hold vol and power and get to CWM?
 
See, but scotty cannot and neither can I. On IRC they told me to pull the battery, put it back in and then try. That worked but only once. I need to get into recovery via quickboot or adb reboot bootloader. Weird, not everyone having this issue.

I can now... After I figured out the fastboot enabled setting had to be off. :eek:

It doesn't go directly in... You have to select the "recovery" option in hboot
