Promised update this month!?

Lol yea ill wait patiently. Its been so long that me and all the other people who have infuses have been waiting on this update. This phone also really needs a dual core proc and double the RAM. Imagine that...It would be beastly enough to compete with the galaxy s2

Compete with doing what?

Compete with doing what?

Compete with its graphics, 1080p camera, 2mp front camera, 32gb internal and 1gb ram >.> not to mention the processor and its popularity. However Infuse still wins my heart anyday the 4.5 inch screen was too good to be true when i first saw it 0.O

Unless AT&T servers get overwhelmed with the high demand to update all of its Infuse customers in one day...

us captivate remember the lies that at&t said(refering to the froyo update). it was suppose to come out last august. then last september. then october. then by the end of the year. year turned over still no update. that's the main reason why i refused to get the gs2. it just seems like their updates take forever to fall through on U.S. carriers.

I love the screen, and the camera and sd space, but that's about it, froyo sucks on a screen this size. Its not slow, but it hangs up, a lot... ram sucks. My dream phone, 4.5 superamoled, dual core, 2 gigs ram, icecream sandwich.

Im so mad but its not getting the update in august like promised. AT&T just posted on twitter that is was mistakenly posted. I'm so mad. i hope the galaxy s2 comes out before the 30 days is up on my new infuse

Guys do not worry, the update will come soon. If you guys are all wanting it so badly then just install the Infuse v2 rom like me. I was a complete noob at it but now i am a flash-a-holic. The only thing this may sacrifice is 4g speeds, but it is good enough for now until they come out with it. By the way, this rom will probably even be double as fast as 2.3 when it comes out, because usually developers make better roms anyway. This is my opinion, you guys can argue it, but seriously i used to be totally against even rooting my phone, now i am glad i did it and only looked back once, but only for the 4g speed. Even in most places the 4g is working now just not in my area.

I spoke to both AT&T and Samsung on Sept 20, 2011. Neither company could tell me when the 2.3 Gingerbread update would be available for the Samsung Insfuse android phone. The AT&T guy tried to tell me I already had it, i.e. the ver 2.2.1 Froyo.uckh1. I somehow do not think so.

I see everybody always talking about the Gingerbread update, so what is it??

it's an update for your phone. changning a few things and making the phone run smoother. I don't think you'll see 2.3 until at&t releases the Galaxy 2. Reason for that is because they don't wanna lose money. Everything is a money issue now these days. At most it should be out within 2 months after SG2 releasing on at&t. People have to understand that when it comes to at&t, their meat and potatoes is the iphone. So everything else is just a phone.

This is just my opinion though.

run smoother? yes, I love it how this update has me now dialing numbers twice because the first time I try to call it claims to connect but neither party can hear a call...have to call back each time now, know its not the network and is my phone because every other android or iphone except the infuse has no problem making a call on AT&T.

I'm not waiting for the update. When it comes, if it comes, great, otherwise the phone is working just fine for me. Sounds like you need a different phone, not just GB.

If you want gingerbread NOW, without waiting for ATT to release an official update, (as long as you don't need HDMI out), I recommend switching over to GSInfuse 1.1.9, and Infusion-GB Core A for the kernel. You will have Gingerbread, and will be able to O/C your phone to 1600 Mhz stable. This is the setup that I run, and I am happy with it. :)

They said mid october all devices would have 2.3, wow blew that. People if you want the latest and greatest just root the phone lol. Install some custom 2.3 rom, and you will be good to go. I have CM7 and I am on 2.3.7 android, it fricken rock at how fast and stable it is. If people really need hdmi, you can do the new 2.3 leaks on 2.3.5 or 2.3.6 with the stock kernel and get hdmi. 2.3 is dawning on us.... we will probably not get 4.0 from sammy or att, but CM7 ( CM9 is what it will be called, or Miui (based off of CM)) is really right now our only hope.

I'm guessing the captivate is the next phone for gingerbread. Followed by the Thrill then infuse.

Captivate just got it, gosh I'm tired of these slow updates lol. CM7 should just be the bases of android, because they are really the best devs (and the ones with most time lol). That's why the galaxy nexus is my next phone.
