promote EVO in your email sig

I believe Blackberries were the first to have signatures that said: Sent From My Blackberry. The Palm Pre also said Sent From My Palm Pre.

I think we all should change our gmail signatures on our phones to Sent From My HTC EVO 4G...what do you think?

Yikes. I've always removed the signature all of my phones. It's tacky and unprofessional, IMO. Whatever floats your boat, I guess.

I don't think it's tacky or unprofessional. I actually think it's somewhat helpful as it lets people know that you are not e-mailing from your normal computer.

I don't see how that could be helpful.

I prefer my signature to by my name, company, phone, email, etc. If I email someone for work, it isn't going to help them to know what phone I have or whether or not I'm on my phone or my computer... they need to know how to contact me.

I just think it's unprofessional. Whenever I get emails from people that have a signature like that I cringe.

Uh really??? Especially since I use my phone for my very 'professional' job I do it as a courtesy to others reading my email in the event there are typos or grammatical errors. Sending an email fron your phone on the fly when there is a hot Production issues, can contain an occasional error. Most gramma and spelling nazis take that into consideration when my signature alerts them it was sent from my phone.

Thats the first thing I did after I added all my accounts. I love to brag.

Heh... it's the first thing I removed. I've always found it a little bit tacky and I will be sending plenty of business emails from the phone, so it was a no-brainer.

I do the same thing.

Sorry. Personal opinion. I find it unprofessional (but I always take care to correct any spelling errors in my work emails, so I don't feel the need to let people know whether I'm at my phone or my computer... they are interchangeable devices for me). Like i said, whatever floats your boat.

We have a few sales people with our company that still have this in their email. It is occasionally nice to be able to tell if they are in the office or traveling, because this lets me know if they are going to be able to readily answer a technical question or look something up, or if I am better off contacting someone else who is in the office.

I agree... personal opinion. I actually think it courteous to let people know you are mobile, kind of like a disclaimer for brevity and/or aforementioned errors.

I can see where some folks would not want others to know where they are composing emails from.

I can't in good faith add it as a signature being that I used to laugh at all the iPhone fanboys for having it in their signature...somehow I feel I would be stooping to their level!

My business mobile sig used to contain my professional sig with lines "sent on the go" or "sent via mobile device."

In some industries, it is promoted as being an indicator of being cutting edge.

Meh... doesn't bother me. There are more important things to get into a tizzy about, like why folks buy iPhones in the first place. :D

Mine says it right now, but that's because I'm cooler than the rest of you.

More professional? Probably not. Cooler? Yes.

Currently, the phone is attaching something like "Sent from my HTC phone on the Now Network from Sprint", on all my yahoo accounts that I have setup on the phone.

How can I change that? I didn't tell it to add that when I set up my yahoo accounts, and it isn't adding that on my gmail account.... so why is it doing it on the yahoos? I really hope that is changeable.

Thanks,
B

The Gmail app does not add a signature by default. Your Yahoo is going thru the HTC Mail app which adds a sig. Its somewhere in the Mail setting that you can change your sig.
