Proper Wallpaper Size.

I like to make my own wallpapers for my phones. Being new to android and hero. Im wondering what the proper size is. My initial thought is the screen resolution. Just wondering if i need to make them bigger for the hero to scale them? Thanks in advance

Someone may correct me but I am pretty sure that they are 640x480. This may not sound quite wide enough, but remember that the background does not move with the same ratio as the foreground items / widgets etc.

I have made a few of my own at this res and it seems to fit perfectly.

The Hero lets you crop your image before it sets it as the wallpaper, resizing it automatically. Just try setting one of the stock photos it came with as a wallpaper, and you'll see how it works.

As for what resolution it uses natively? 640x480 sounds right to me. The Hero's screen is 480x320, and with the way the background slides as you scroll sideways, that 640 pixels wide makes sense.

Android's default wallpaper tool only allow you to set wallpaper in 4:3 ratio. But you can set wide image (e.g. 960*480) as wallpaper by app "Home Screen Label".
