I just rooted my phone with gingerbreak 1.2 played around with it installed different apps like titanium backup, bloat freezer to freeze bloatwares and root explorer and of course superuser. Now before I install clockworkmod i want to know the proper way of unrooting my phone. Do i need to uninstall all those apps above first before i unroot using gingerbreak and also i understand that superuser cant be uninstalled whats the proper way of removing this.

do you want to unroot for the sake of installing clockworkmod recovery? because you dont have to. you can drop in clockworkmod recovery while rooted.

I want to get familiar with how things work just incase i need to do it i already know how. I would obviously be rooting and installing cwm just a learning process. Anyways i unfroze all my bloatware apps not even sure if its necessary then i went and unroot from gingerbreak app the phone reboot and used root checker to see if i still have root access and it says im not rooted! tried opening titanium backup wont let me. But superuser is still installed any ideas why I know it should have been deleted auto after i did the unrooting right ? Should i just uninstall superuser ? Saw the same thing happened to someone in you tube she was showing how to root and unroot moto triumph but superuser cant be uninstalled she ended up doing factory reset.

Just an update I tried uninstalling it from manage app but uninstalled failed but when i check all my app in manage applications superuser was gone but on the settings screen the icon still there. I opened root checker and did advance root check it says that superuser.apk in not installed then i rebooted my phone thinking that icon was bugged and soft reset might help and it did icon is gone saved me time instead of doing a factory reset. So maybe there is a bug of some sort because like i said same thing happened to that person in youtube but instead she did a soft reboot after her uninstall failed.

ive actually rooted and unrooted my phone and to take off superuser i got an app called sd maid it requires root so i used it before unrooting to manually delete superuser in the root browser it has
