Root proper way to backup paid apps

Hi, I've never purchased an app but titanium is truly exceptional. I love this app. What is a fail proof way of purchasing an app and retaining its already purchased status. I'm sure its just me being newb paranoid but I can't afford to pay over and over. I like to flash mods and roms at whim. I'm thinking I should uninstall free titanium from my system, purchase paid version, backup system in custom recover, placing a copy of the app on my computer and then doing a titanium backup. Now I've backed up via custrecov and gotten a md5 mismatch, I've backed up with astro (love astro) and lost data and I heard the market backs up paid apps and if Google performs that as well as they back up my contacts then its gonna be pretty sweet indeed. All this to say is it safe to assume titanium backup pro and titanium media sync will never lose its purchase status? I've read complaints (not with titanium but other various apps) from commenters saying the key didn't work and they were asked to repurchase. Thanks a bunch :)

The apps you purchase from the android market are linked to your Google account (just like contacts). It doesn't back them up, but they appear as "purchased" and you won't get charged for them multiple times.

I think WunderShare MobileGo allows app backups over wifi, to your PC.

I'll test it today since I have the whole thing already set up, should be good for back up and restore of apps between roms.

also lets you manage SMS, music, video, and other stuff from a desktop app on the PC. really cool. all over the same wifi network, no plugging in.

And you can install them on all your Android devices that are associated with that same Google account without buying them again.
